THE GOAL
The project aimed to create a platform enabling marketers and communication professionals to easily create, mint, and distribute NFTs for campaigns without requiring in-depth blockchain knowledge.
the challange

The primary challenge was to simplify the complex world of blockchain and NFTs for non-technical users.

We needed to design an intuitive platform that would allow marketing and communication professionals to leverage the trending collectibles market while hiding the technical complexities of Web3.

The goal was to create a smooth, simple, yet engaging and memorable user experience.

the PROCESS

My approach to understanding and solving the problem involved:

  • Analyzing existing documentation and a market research (provided by a third party collaborator)

  • Conducting a comprehensive competitor benchmark

  • Close collaboration with the Product Owner, CEO and developers to align with business and tech objectives

Key insights from research revealed:

  • Existing competitors weren’t adequately addressing the steep learning curve associated with Web3 and NFT platforms

  • This gap in the market presented a significant opportunity for Mintknight

My design process unfolded in several stages:

  1. Utilization of Miro to create a comprehensive Information Architecture diagram, defining the entire user flow

  2. Creation and iteration of wireframes based on the established Information Architecture

  3. Development of a minimal style guide aligned with existing branding guidelines

  4. Evolution of the style guide into a comprehensive Design System

  5. Application of the design system to create a high-fidelity prototype

  6. Development of a functional specification document for developers
the outcome

The final deliverables included:

  • A fully interactive, high-fidelity prototype

  • A complete diagram mapping the whole User flow

  • A comprehensive Design System

  • Functional specifications for developers

The design solution simplified the NFT creation process and established a clear permission hierarchy for different user roles within the platform.

I also contributed to the development process through daily collaboration with developers and ongoing support during handover and follow-up phases.

This thorough design process resulted in an MVP with a solid information architecture and refined interactions that significantly simplified the user experience.

The platform successfully addressed the initial challenge by making NFT creation and distribution accessible to non-technical marketing and communication professionals.

A significant challenge was maintaining a mindset focused on simplification rather than adding steps to solve problems.

This project underscored the art of creating designs that appear simple yet deliver strong value to the end user, especially crucial in complex user flows like this one.

This project highlighted the importance of user-centric design in emerging technologies.

It demonstrated how thoughtful UX/UI design can bridge the gap between complex technical systems and non-technical users, potentially opening up new markets and use cases for blockchain technology.
