Research: 14 interviews — clients and internal stakeholders — plus 3 working sessions to map friction points. Fed into a single navigation architecture, validated with product and engineering.
The architecture call: Engineering ruled out a full platform rebuild. I proposed microfrontends per platform on one shared Design System, connected through Tailwind — each platform integrates on its own timeline instead of being rebuilt from scratch.
AI pilot with BASF: In parallel, I helped lead the squad building a custom version for BASF, testing AI-assisted development (Claude Code, Windsurf) against a team working the traditional way. Six months total, two-week sprints.
Delivered: Full Design System and the three most complex enTrader screens, architected to extend into a multi-platform shell once EZ-energy and Eggsport come online.
Engineering velocity: The AI-assisted team ran 20% faster than the control team building the pages, navigation, and the Storybook implementation of the Design System.
At handoff: Design System and BASF build validated and handed to engineering, in staging. Production rollout and its OpEx impact land after that point — outside my window on the project.
